The Purple Butterfly Foundation NPC is a faith-based family ministry led by people united not only by family, but by a shared passion for Christ, compassionate service, Gospel outreach and making a practical difference in the lives of women, children and families.
Our directors are members of the same family, serving together with a common Christian calling. Jessica Rose Steyn is the Founder and CEO of the Foundation. Her husband, Jonathan Steyn, serves as Director: Legal & Compliance and is currently training toward pastoral ministry. Jessica's daughters, Maruschke Oosthuizen and Mischke Bezuidenhout, serve respectively as Director: Treasury & Donations and Director: Marketing.
As a family-led NPC, we believe ministry is more than words. It is showing up, protecting the vulnerable, restoring dignity, creating opportunity, sharing hope and carrying the Gospel into practical acts of service. Our aim is to build a trustworthy, accountable and compassionate organisation that reflects Christ through both its message and its work.
Each director brings a distinct area of responsibility to the Foundation while remaining united around its faith-based mission of protection, transformation and restoration.
Jessica founded the Purple Butterfly Foundation from a deeply personal understanding of the challenges faced by women and children rebuilding their lives after abuse. She leads the Foundation's vision, ministry direction, survivor-centred programmes and long-term mission of restoring dignity, independence and hope.
Family: Wife of Jonathan and mother of Maruschke and Mischke.
Jonathan supports the Foundation's governance, legal administration, compliance and responsible organisational practices. He is also currently training toward pastoral ministry and brings a strong commitment to Christian service, ministry, Gospel outreach and protecting the integrity of the Foundation's mission.

Maruschke supports the responsible stewardship of donations, financial administration and donor-focused activities. Her role helps ensure that contributions entrusted to the Foundation are handled with accountability and directed toward meaningful support and sustainable impact.

Mischke helps communicate the Foundation's mission, stories, outreach and opportunities for involvement. Through marketing and awareness initiatives, she supports the Foundation in reaching communities, partners and supporters with a message of faith, hope and transformation.
